You can use the Trello connector from the CData Sync application to capture data from Trello and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

Add the Trello Connector

To enable Sync to use data from Trello, you first must add the connector, as follows:

1. Open the Connections page of the Sync dashboard.

2. Click Add Connection to open the Select Connectors page.

3. Click the Sources tab and locate the Trello row.

4. Click the Configure Connection icon at the end of that row to open the New Connection page. If the Configure Connection icon is not available, click the Download Connector icon to install the Trello connector. For more information about installing new connectors, see Connections.

Authenticate to Trello

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

On the New Connection page, enter the connection name of your choice.

CData Sync supports authenticating to Trello in several ways. Select your authentication method below to proceed to the relevant section that contains the authentication details.

• OAuth

Token

To connect with a Trello token, specify the following properties:

• Auth Scheme - Select Token.

• API Key - Enter your Trello API key.

  To obtain your key:

  1. Log in to your Trello account.

  2. Navigate to the Power-Up Admin Portal. Within the portal, create a new Power-Up (if you have not already) by clicking New.

  3. Click the API Key tab within your Power-Up settings. Your API key appears on this tab.

  4. Copy the key and paste it in the API Key text box in Sync.

• Token - Enter your Trello token.

  To obtain your token:

  1. Log in to your Trello account.

  2. Open the Token Request URL (https://trello.com/1/authorize?expiration=never&name=MyApp&scope=read,write&response_type=token&key=YourAPIKey) and change YourAPIKey in that URL to your API key.

  3. Authorize the application by clicking Allow. After you authorize the application, your Trello token is displayed.

  4. Copy the token and paste in the Token text box in Sync.

OAuth

CData Sync provides an embedded OAuth application with which to connect. To use the application, select OAuth for Auth Scheme. No additional properties are required.

Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:

1. (Optional) For Board Id, enter the identifier for the board that your Trello card references.

2. Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)

3. If you authenticate with OAuth, click Connect to Trello to connect to your Trello account.

4. Click Create & Test to create your connection.
