EDI Connectors

Version 23.4.8839

CData Arc Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) connectors support converting a variety of EDI business document standards to and from XML. Arc uses XML as the primary format for data manipulation and transformation, so converting files between EDI and XML helps streamline EDI processing by:

  • Integrating EDI documents into a back-end system (such as a database or a cloud application)
  • Translating EDI documents into flat file formats (such as CSV or TSV)
  • Generating EDI documents from external data

EDI documents are parsed according to standard schemas provided with the application. If necessary, additional schemas can be provided to the EDI connectors by adding the schema files to a connector’s Schemas folder.

The EDI connectors also support validating EDI transaction headers to ensure that documents are sent and received by the expected parties, and the connectors can automatically generate EDI acknowledgments to provide non-repudiation assurance.

Watch this video to see an example of EDI mapping and integration in Arc. This is part three of a three-part video series that covers each step of an end-to-end B2B integration: managed file transfer (using AS2 as an example), back-end integration, and EDI translation and mapping.
