Connecting to HDFS


In CData Sync, you can connect to HDFS in several ways. Select your authentication method below, then proceed to the relevant section and follow those instructions.

None

To connect without authentication, select None for Auth Scheme. No additional properties are required.

Complete the remaining steps for establishing your connection.

Kerberos

To connect with Kerberos authentication, set the following properties:

  • Auth Scheme - Select Negotiate.

  • User - Enter the username that you use to authenticate to your HDFS instance.

  • Password - Enter the password that you use to authenticate to your HDFS instance.

  • Kerberos KDC - Enter the host name or IP Address of your Kerberos KDC machine.

  • Kerberos Realm - Enter the realm used to authenticate the user.

  • Kerberos SPN - Enter the service and host of the CSV Kerberos Principal. Find this value just before the ‘@’ symbol of the principal value.

  • Kerberos Keytab File (optional) - Enter the keytab file that contains your pairs of the Kerberos principals and encrypted keys.

  • Kerberos Service Realm (optional) - Enter the Kerberos realm of the service.

  • Kerberos Service KDC (optional) - Enter the Kerberos KDC of the service.

  • Kerberos Ticket Cache (optional) - Enter the full file path to the Kerberos credential cache file.
