Vertica
You can use the Vertica connector from the CData Sync application to move data from any supported source to the Vertica destination. To do so, you need to add the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.
Establish a Connection
To allow Sync to use data from Vertica, you first must establish a connection to Vertica. Follow these steps to connect Vertica to your Sync account:
-
Open the Connections page of the Sync dashboard.
-
Click Add Connection to open the Select Connectors page.
-
Click the Destinations tab and locate the Vertica row.
-
Click the Configure Connection icon at the end of that row. If you do not see the Configure Connection icon, you need to add the connector according to the instructions in Connections.
-
Enter connection settings on the Settings tab:
-
Connection Name - Enter a connection name of your choice.
-
Server - Enter either the host name or the IP address of the Vertica database.
-
Port - Enter the port number of the server that hosts the Vertica database. The default port value is 5433.
-
User - Enter the username that you use to authenticate to the Vertica database.
-
Password - Enter the password that you use to authenticate to the Vertica database.
-
Database - Enter the name of the database that is hosted on your Vertica server.
-
-
Click Create & Test to create the connection.
-
Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
