LinkedIn

You can use the LinkedIn connector from the CData Sync application to capture data from LinkedIn and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

Add the LinkedIn Connector

To enable Sync to use data from LinkedIn, you first must add the connector, as follows:

  1. Open the Connections page of the Sync dashboard.

  2. Click Add Connection to open the Select Connectors page.

  3. Click the Sources tab and locate the LinkedIn row.

  4. Click the Configure Connection icon at the end of that row to open the New Connection page. If the Configure Connection icon is not available, click the Download Connector icon to install the LinkedIn connector. For more information about installing new connectors, see Connections.

Authenticate to LinkedIn

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

  • Connection Name - Enter a connection name of your choice.

  • Company Id - Enter the company Id of the user who is logged in currently. If you specify the company Id in the query, use this format: urn:li:organization:{companyId}. You can determine your company Id in either of the following ways:

    • You can locate your company Id by searching for the numeric string that appears near the end of the URL for the search-results page, as shown below:

      Example: https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/people/?currentCompany=%5B"4526037"5D&origin=CompanyPageName&sid=lrb

Note: The search-results page is displayed when you search for your company name in the Company list on your LinkedIn page.

    • As the LinkedIn page administrator, you can access that page from either the All Pages link or from the Home tab. The company Id is the numeric string that follows “https://www.linkedin.com/company/” in that page’s URL, as shown in this example:

      Example: https://www.linkedin.com/company/8690512/admin/

Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:

  1. Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)

  2. Click Connect to LinkedIn to connect to your LinkedIn account.

  3. Click Create & Test to create your connection.
