Microsoft Ads

You can use the Microsoft Ads connector from the CData Sync application to capture data from Microsoft Ads and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

Prerequisites

Before you connect and authenticate to a Microsoft Ads account, you must register for Microsoft Ads and obtain a developer token, as described in the following sections.

Register a Bing Ads Account

Complete the following steps to sign up for a Microsoft Ads account and to obtain a customer identifier (Id) and, optionally, an account Id:

  1. Sign up for a Microsoft Ads account in the Bing Ads web application or at the Sandbox site for a sandbox account.

  2. Select Settings > Accounts and Billing and select a single account. The account Id and customer Id are displayed on the account’s page and in the page’s URL.

Obtain a Developer Token

To obtain a developer token:

  1. Log in to the Bing Ads Developer Portal as a Microsoft Account user with the Microsoft Ads Super Admin role.

Note: You must have the Super Admin role in Microsoft Ads to create a developer token, though you do not need special permissions to use the token.

  2. Click Request Token.

  3. Copy your developer token and paste it in the Developer Token connection property in the Sync application.

Add the Microsoft Ads Connector

To enable Sync to use data from Microsoft Ads, you first must add the connector, as follows:

  1. Open the Connections page of the Sync dashboard.

  2. Click Add Connection to open the Select Connectors page.

  3. Click the Sources tab and locate the Microsoft Ads row.

  4. Click the Configure Connection icon at the end of that row to open the New Connection page. If the Configure Connection icon is not available, click the Download Connector icon to install the Microsoft Ads connector. For more information about installing new connectors, see Connections.

Authenticate to Microsoft Ads

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

  • Connection Name - Enter a connection name of your choice.

  • Developer Token - Enter the developer token for the user that is currently authenticated.

  • Customer Id - Enter the customer identifier (Id) for the user that is currently authenticated.

Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:

  1. (Optional) For Account Id, enter the Id of the account for which you want to obtain data.

  2. Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)

  3. Click Connect to Microsoft Ads to connect to your Microsoft Ads account.

  4. Click Create & Test to create your connection.
