Microsoft SharePoint Excel

You can use the Microsoft SharePoint Excel connector from the CData Sync application to capture data from Microsoft SharePoint Excel and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

Establish a Connection

To allow Sync to use data from Microsoft SharePoint Excel, you first must establish a connection to Microsoft SharePoint Excel. Follow these steps to connect Microsoft SharePoint Excel to your Sync account:

  1. Open the Connections page of the Sync dashboard.

  2. Click Add Connection to open the Select Connectors page.

  3. Click the Sources tab and locate the Microsoft SharePoint Excel row.

  4. Click the Configure Connection icon at the end of that row. If you do not see the Configure Connection icon, you need to add the connector according to the instructions in Connections.

  5. Enter connection settings on the Settings tab:

    • Connection Name - Enter a connection name of your choice.

    • URL - Enter the URL to your server’s name or IP address.

    • File - Enter the name of the Excel workbook to which you want to connect.

    • Auth Scheme - Select the authentication scheme. NTLM is the default setting.

    • User - Enter the username that you use to authenticate to SharePoint on-premises.

    • Password - Enter the password that you use to authenticate to SharePoint on-premises.

    • SharePoint Version - Select your version of SharePoint from the list. The default version is SharePoint 2013.

    • Folder - Enter the path to the folder that contains the workbook that you specified for File.

    • Library - Specify the document library to which you want to connect.

    • Use RESTAPI - Set this property to True if you want to connect to spreadsheets or ranges as tables. The default value is **True.””

      Note: If you specify SharePoint 2010 as your SharePoint version, you must set this property to True.

  6. Click Create & Test to create the connection.

  7. Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
