LDAP
You can use the LDAP connector from the CData Sync application to capture data from LDAP and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.
Establish a Connection
To allow Sync to use data from LDAP, you first must establish a connection to LDAP. Follow these steps to connect LDAP to your Sync account:
-
Open the Connections page of the Sync dashboard.
-
Click Add Connection to open the Select Connectors page.
-
Click the Sources tab and locate the LDAP row.
-
Click the Configure Connection icon at the end of that row. If you do not see the Configure Connection icon, you need to add the connector according to the instructions in Connections.
-
Enter connection settings on the Settings tab:
-
Connection Name - Enter a connection name of your choice.
-
Server - Enter the domain name or the IP address of your LDAP server.
-
Port - Enter the port number for the LDAP server. The default port value is 389*.
-
User - Enter the distinguished name of a specified user.
-
Password - Enter the password for the distinguished username.
-
Base DN - Enter the base portion of the distinguished name. The base portion of the name limits results to specific subtrees.
-
Use SSL - Select whether you want to enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). The default value is False.
-
Integrated Security - Select whether to use the user’s current context upon login. The default value is False.
-
-
Click Create & Test to create the connection.
-
Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
