Act! CRM


You can use the Act! CRM connector from the CData Sync application to capture data from Act! CRM and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

Establish a Connection

To allow Sync to use data from Act! CRM, you first must establish a connection to Act! CRM. Follow these steps to connect Act! CRM to your Sync account:

  1. Open the Connections page of the Sync dashboard.

  2. Click Add Connection to open the Select Connectors page.

  3. Click the Sources tab and locate the Act! CRM row.

  4. Click the Configure Connection icon at the end of that row. If you do not see the Configure Connection icon, you need to add the connector according to the instructions in Connections.

  5. Enter connection settings on the Settings tab:

    • Connection Name - Enter a connection name of your choice.

    • Act Database - Enter the name of the Act! CRM database to which you want to connect. To locate the name of the database, click the About Act! Premium item in the ? menu (top right of the window) in your Act! CRM account. When you click that item, a window opens. That window contains the database name.

    • URL - Enter the URL for Act! CRM (for example, http://ServerName/).

    • User - Enter the username that you use to authenticate to the Act! CRM account.

    • Password - Enter the password that you use to authenticate to the Act! CRM account.

    • Act Edition - Select your edition of Act! CRM (either Act CRM or Act Premium Cloud). The default edition is Act CRM.

    • Act Cloud Name - This field is displayed only when you select the Act! Premium Cloud edition. Enter the name that is assigned to assigned to your Act! Premium Cloud account. You can find the name in your browser address field when you open your online account. The name is at the end of the URL, as shown in this example: https://eup1-iis-04.eu.hosted.act.com/ActCloudName.

  6. Click Create & Test to create the connection.

  7. Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
