API Data Provider - Online Help

Connecting to Pushover

Pushover uses API Key authentication. Your Pushover Application API Token is used to authenticate all requests. You can create and manage API tokens in the Pushover dashboard at pushover.net by registering an application under Settings > Your Applications.

Using APIKey Authentication

After setting the following connection properties, you are ready to connect:

  • AuthScheme: Set this to APIKey.
  • APIKey: Set this to your 30-character Pushover Application API Token.

Example connection string:

Profile=C:\profiles\Pushover.apip;AuthScheme=APIKey;ProfileSettings="APIKey=your_application_token";

Available Tables

The Pushover API Profile provides access to notification and account data across 7 tables:

  • AppLimits - Query monthly message quota and rate limit details for the application API token.
  • Sounds - Retrieve available notification sound identifiers and display names.
  • Licenses - Query available license credits for assigning Pushover licenses to users.
  • Groups - Access delivery groups for broadcasting notifications to multiple recipients.
  • GroupMembers - Query members of a delivery group with device and status information (requires GroupKey).
  • Receipts - Retrieve acknowledgment and delivery status for emergency-priority notifications (requires ReceiptId).
  • UserValidation - Validate a Pushover user or group key and retrieve associated device and license information (requires User).
