Connecting to AutodeskConstructionCloud
To authenticate to Autodesk Construction Cloud, you can use the OAuth standard to connect to your own data or to allow other users to connect to their data.
Using OAuth Authentication
First, create an OAuth app:
- Navigate to https://aps.autodesk.com/myapps/ and click the Create application button.
- Give the application a name.
- Select Traditional Web App, then click Create.
- Note the displayed Client ID and Client Secret.
- Under General Settings, set Callback URL to an available domain and port, such as https://localhost.com:33333.
- In the API Access dropdown, enable the data:read scope.
- Click Save changes.
Set the following connection properties to connect:
- Profile: AutodeskConstructionCloud
- ProfileSettings: ProjectId=(the Project Id associated with your Autodesk Construction Cloud account);Scope=data.read
- AuthScheme: OAuth
- InitiateOAuth: GETANDREFRESH
- OAuthClientID: the value of the Client ID you noted when creating the OAuth app.
- OAuthClientSecret: the value of the Client Secret you noted when creating the OAuth app.
- CallbackURL: the Callback URL you specified in your app settings.

The connection string properties are the various options that can be used to establish a connection. This section provides a complete list of the options you can configure in the connection string for this provider.

| InitiateOAuth | Specifies the process for obtaining or refreshing the OAuth access token, which maintains user access while an authenticated, authorized user is working. Allowed values are: OFF, REFRESH, GETANDREFRESH |
| OAuthAccessToken | Specifies the OAuth access token used to authenticate requests to the data source. This token is issued by the authorization server after a successful OAuth exchange. |
| OAuthClientId | Specifies the client ID (also known as the consumer key) assigned to your custom OAuth application. This ID is required to identify the application to the OAuth authorization server during authentication. |
| OAuthClientSecret | Specifies the client secret assigned to your custom OAuth application. This confidential value is used to authenticate the application to the OAuth authorization server. (Custom OAuth applications only.). |
