Using API Key Authentication

Alchemy uses API key authentication. The API key is supplied in the request URL path. To obtain an API key:

Sign in to your Alchemy account at https://dashboard.alchemy.com.
Open an existing app or create a new one.
Copy the app's API key from the API Key dialog.

After obtaining your API key, set the following connection properties:

AuthScheme: Set this to APIKey.
Network: Optional. The blockchain network slug for NFT API requests (for example, eth-mainnet, base-mainnet, polygon-mainnet). Defaults to eth-mainnet.

Set the following in the ProfileSettings connection property:

APIKey: Set this to your Alchemy app API key.

Connecting to Alchemy

Once the authentication is configured, you can connect to Alchemy and query data from any of the available tables. Most tables require at least one input parameter (such as an owner wallet address, a contract address, or a token symbol) supplied through a WHERE clause.

Available Tables

The Alchemy API Profile provides access to the following tables:

NFTsForOwner: NFTs owned by a wallet address (requires Owner).
NFTMetadata: Metadata for a single NFT (requires ContractAddress and TokenId).
ContractsForOwner: NFT contracts a wallet holds tokens in (requires Owner).
OwnersForContract: Owners of an NFT collection (requires ContractAddress).
OwnersForNFT: Owners of a specific NFT (requires ContractAddress and TokenId).
FloorPrice: Collection floor price across marketplaces (requires ContractAddress).
NFTSales: NFT sale events across marketplaces (filter by ContractAddress, TokenId, Marketplace, and parties).
TokenPricesBySymbol: Current token prices by ticker symbol (requires Symbol).
TokenPricesByAddress: Current token prices by contract address (requires Address).
HistoricalTokenPrices: Historical token prices over a time range (requires Symbol, StartTime, EndTime).
PortfolioTokens: Token balances, metadata and prices for a wallet (requires Address).
PortfolioNFTs: NFTs owned by a wallet across networks (requires Address).

Important Notes

Most tables require at least one input parameter to retrieve data. Use WHERE clauses to supply required inputs.
The NFT API targets the network set in the Network connection property; the Token Prices and Portfolio APIs accept the network per request and default to eth-mainnet.
Token and balance amounts are returned as raw (hex-encoded) values; convert using the token's decimals.
Alchemy API requests consume compute units (CU); usage and rate limits vary by account plan.

Connection Properties

The connection string properties are the various options that can be used to establish a connection. This section provides a complete list of the options you can configure in the connection string for this provider.

Property	Description
APIKey	The API key for your Alchemy account.
AuthScheme	The scheme used for authentication. Accepted entries are APIKey or None. Allowed values are: BASIC, NONE, NTLM, OAUTH, APIKEY, OAUTH_CLIENT, OAUTH_PASSWORD
Network	The blockchain network (chain) slug used for NFT API requests. Defaults to eth-mainnet. Allowed values are: ETH-MAINNET, ETH-SEPOLIA, BASE-MAINNET, POLYGON-MAINNET, ARB-MAINNET, OPT-MAINNET
