CData is always making improvements to our products. It is always recommended that you run the latest version of API Server to maximize performance, stability, and compatibility with online services.

If you run API Server using the embedded application or as a service, follow these steps to upgrade:

1. Stop the API Server application or service (see instructions for Windows or Java for more information).

2. Download the latest version of API Server.

3. Install the application.

   • For Windows, run the setup file and install it to the existing directory.

   • For Java, follow these steps to preserve your settings and drivers:

     1. Extract the archive to a temporary directory.

     2. Copy apiserver.jar to the base folder of your API Server installation directory and overwrite the existing file.

     3. Copy webapp/apiserver.war to the webapp folder of your API Server installation directory and overwrite the existing file.

4. Start the application or service.
