CustomColumns
Create, update, delete, and query Reckon Custom Columns.
Table Specific Information
CustomColumns may be inserted, updated, deleted, and queried via the CustomColumns table. CustomColumns are identified by OwnerID and DataExtName; DataExtID is a read-only key assigned by QuickBooks.
Select
Reckon retrieves all custom column definitions when querying the CustomColumns table. All filters are executed client-side. For example:
SELECT * FROM CustomColumns
Insert
To insert a CustomColumn, specify the DataExtName and DataExtType. Use the AddToObject input column to associate the custom column with one or more object types. For example:
INSERT INTO CustomColumns (DataExtName, DataExtType, AddToObject) VALUES ('MyField', 'STR255TYPE', 'Employee')
Update
To rename a CustomColumn, use the DataExtNameNew input column. Other updateable fields include DataExtListRequire, DataExtTxnRequire, DataExtFormatString, AddToObject (to associate an object type), and RemoveFromObject (to disassociate an object type). For example:
UPDATE CustomColumns SET DataExtNameNew = 'RenamedField' WHERE DataExtID = '1'
Delete
CustomColumns may be deleted using the DataExtID. For example:
DELETE FROM CustomColumns WHERE DataExtID = '1'
