BindOnNavigations
Specifies whether the provider automatically binds navigation properties when their references are specified during an INSERT or UPDATE operation.
Data Type
bool
Default Value
true
Remarks
In Microsoft Dataverse, navigation properties represent relationships between entities. Some Microsoft Dataverse services automatically establish these relationships when you reference a related entity’s key in an INSERT or UPDATE request, but others may not.
When set to true, the driver attempts to bind navigation properties automatically using the provided foreign key values in INSERT or UPDATE requests. This automatic binding works only for one-to-one relationships.
When set to false, the driver does not attempt to bind navigation properties automatically. You must define navigation bindings explicitly.
For one-to-many or many-to-many relationships, use the Linked* columns to define navigation bindings. You can pass the related entity endpoints using JSON, XML, or a temporary table such as #TEMP.
This property is useful when you want to ensure that navigation properties are correctly associated without having to manually define binding logic in every request.
