CData Tableau Connector for Dataverse
The CData Tableau Connector for Dataverse offers self-service integration with Tableau. The connector facilitates live access to Dataverse data in Tableau using the connection window. The connector also provides direct querying to visualize and analyze Dataverse data.
The connector supports Tableau Desktop 2020.1 or later and Tableau Prep 2020.4.1 or later. For older versions of Tableau, the CData ODBC Driver for Dataverse or the CData JDBC Driver for Dataverse can serve as an alternative means of connecting to Dataverse data in Tableau.
Once a connection has been configured, see Getting Data to set up a data source that offers live connectivity to Dataverse.
Advanced Features details additional features supported by the connector, such as defining user defined views, ssl configuration, remoting, caching, firewall/proxy settings, and advanced logging.
Using the Connector
Refer to Visualizing Data to create and work with Tableau visualizations.
See User Defined Views to construct virtual tables whose contents are determined by a pre-configured query, which will then be discovered among existing table metadata.
See Data Model for information on the available database objects and how to use SQL to work with Dataverse APIs. This section provides more detailed information on querying specific Dataverse entities.
