JDBC Driver for MYOB

Build 24.0.9060

Connecting from Code

This section describes how to connect with the JDBC DriverManager or MYOBDataSource interfaces.

Connecting with the DriverManager

When connecting with the DriverManager class, the CData JDBC Driver for MYOB follows the JDBC convention: First, load the MYOB driver class. Then, make a connection.

Load the Driver

The following step is optional per the JDBC 4.0 specification.
Class.forName("cdata.jdbc.myob.MYOBDriver");

Establish a Connection

Provide the connection string with the getConnection method of the static DriverManager class. Start the connection string with "jdbc:myob:". A typical connection string is the following:

Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:myob: If using an online instance: InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;OAuthClientId=YourClientId;OAuthClientSecret=YourClientSecret;CompanyFileId=yourCompanyFileId;CallbackURL=http://localhost:33333;User=companyFileUser;Password=companyFilePassword; If using an on premise instance: InitiateOAuth=OFF;URL=http://localhost:8080/accountright;CompanyFileId=327eed10-9615-4e5e-bd9e-ae2cc00e2c70;User=companyFileUser;Password=companyFilePassword;");
Alternatively, you can prepare the connection options using a Properties object. Pass the Properties object to the DriverManager.
If using an online instance:

Properties prop = new Properties();
prop.setProperty("InitiateOAuth","GETANDREFRESH");
prop.setProperty("OAuthClientId","YourClientId");
prop.setProperty("OAuthClientSecret","YourClientSecret");
prop.setProperty("CallbackURL","http://localhost:33333");

prop.setProperty("CompanyFileId","327eed10-9615-4e5e-bd9e-ae2cc00e2c70");
prop.setProperty("User","companyFileUser");
prop.setProperty("Password","companyFilePassword");

Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:myob:",prop);

If using an on premise instance:

Properties prop = new Properties();
prop.setProperty("InitiateOAuth","OFF");
prop.setProperty("Url","http://localhost:8080/accountright");

prop.setProperty("CompanyFileId","327eed10-9615-4e5e-bd9e-ae2cc00e2c70");
prop.setProperty("User","companyFileUser");
prop.setProperty("Password","companyFilePassword");

Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:myob:",prop);

Connecting with the MYOBDataSource Class

You can use the MYOBDataSource class to create pooled connections, as shown in the following example. See Connection Pooling for more information.

The following example instantiates a pooled Connection object:

MYOBDataSource ds = new MYOBDataSource("jdbc:myob:UseConnectionPooling=true; If using an online instance: InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;OAuthClientId=YourClientId;OAuthClientSecret=YourClientSecret;CompanyFileId=yourCompanyFileId;CallbackURL=http://localhost:33333;User=companyFileUser;Password=companyFilePassword; If using an on premise instance: InitiateOAuth=OFF;URL=http://localhost:8080/accountright;CompanyFileId=327eed10-9615-4e5e-bd9e-ae2cc00e2c70;User=companyFileUser;Password=companyFilePassword;");
Connection conn = ds.getConnection();
