Establishing a Connection
Creating a JDBC Data Source
You can create a JDBC data source to connect from your Java application. Creating a JDBC data source based on the CData JDBC Driver for SAP Fieldglass consists of three basic steps:
- Add the driver JAR file to the classpath. The JAR file is located in the lib subfolder of the installation directory. Note that the .lic file must be located in the same folder as the JAR file.
- Provide the driver class. For example:
cdata.jdbc.sapfieldglass.SAPFieldglassDriver
- Provide the JDBC URL. For example:
jdbc:sapfieldglass:EnvironmentURL='https://myinstance.com';OAuthClientId=clientId;OAuthClientSecret=clientSecret;APIKey=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx; or jdbc:cdata:sapfieldglass:EnvironmentURL='https://myinstance.com';OAuthClientId=clientId;OAuthClientSecret=clientSecret;APIKey=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx;
You can use the second format above whenever there is a conflict in your application between drivers using the same URL format to ensure you are using the CData driver. The URL must start with either "jdbc:sapfieldglass:" or "jdbc:cdata:sapfieldglass:" and can include any of the connection properties in name-value pairs separated with semicolons.
Obtaining Your Credentials
Please contact your SAP Fieldglass representative to obtain an OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and EnvironmentURL.
Connecting to SAP Fieldglass
To authenticate to production environments, specify the following:
- APIKey: Your SAP Fieldglass API Key. This is optional, but if you encounter an error from SAP Fieldglass indicating that an API Key is required, you can request one from SAP Fieldglass administration or log in to the SAP Fieldglass Integration Tools and click Create API Application.
- OAuthClientId: The OAuth Client Id that you obtained from your SAP Fieldglass representative.
- OAuthClientSecret: OAuth Client Secret that you obtained from your SAP Fieldglass representative.
- EnvironmentURL: The SAP Fieldglass Environment URL that you obtained from your SAP Fieldglass representative.
