Before You Connect

Different distributions contain different interfaces, different means of starting and stopping the Phoenix Query server, and different default port settings.

In most distributions, if there is at least one active instance of HBase, and possibly also Zookeeper, you can use the following command to start the Phoenix Query Server in the background:

queryserver.py start
