Connecting to Apache Kafka

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to Apache Kafka and configure any necessary connection properties. You can also configure provider capabilities through the available Connection properties, from data modeling to firewall traversal. Connecting from Visual Studio

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Apache Kafka provides a seamless integration with Microsoft Visual Studio. The provider is registered as an ADO.NET provider with Visual Studio, allowing for integration with visual designer tools, Server Explorer, and ADO.NET data source configuration wizards.

Visual Studio Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Apache Kafka supports Visual Studio versions 2012 and above.

.NET Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Apache Kafka supports .NET Framework 4.0 and above as well as .NET Standard 2.0.

Apache Kafka Version Support

The provider leverages the Apache Kafka client libraries to enable bidirectional access to Kafka topics.
