BizTalk Adapter for SFTP

Build 21.0.7930

Connection Properties

Connection String Options

The connection string properties describe the various options that can be used to establish a connection.

Adapter

CData.BizTalk.SFTPAdapter.dll

Remarks

The connection string can be set to a series of "option=value" pairs, separated by semicolons. If a connection string property value has special characters such as semicolons, single quotes, spaces, etc., then you must quote the value using either single or double quotes.

Connection options are case insensitive.

To specify a location to the database where the tables, views and stored procedures are located, set the Location property. Caching Data can be enabled by using the appropriate options.

The CData BizTalk Adapter for SFTP allows connecting to SFTP servers.

Connecting to an SFTP Server

SFTP can be used to transfer files to and from SFTP servers using the SFTP Protocol. To connect, specify the RemoteHost. SFTP uses the User and Password and public key authentication (SSHClientCert). Choose an SSHAuthMode and specify connection values based on your selection.

Connecting to Data

Set the following connection properties to control the relational view of the file system:

  • RemotePath: Set this to the current working directory.
  • TableDepth: Set this to control the depth of subfolders to report as views.
  • FileRetrievalDepth: Set this to retrieve files recursively and list them in the Root table.
Stored Procedures are available to download files, upload files, and send protocol commands. See Data Model for more on using SQL to interact with the server.

Connection String Options

The connection string options available in this provider are divided into the following categories. Click on the links for further details.

Authentication

PropertyDescription
TableDepthThe depth level to display subfolders as views.
RemoteHostSet this to the host name or address of the server.
RemotePathThe current path in the SFTP server.
UserThe SFTP user account used to authenticate.
PasswordThe password used to authenticate the user.
RemotePortThe port the SFTP server is running on.
PassiveControls whether to direct the server into passive mode. Recommended if behind a firewall.

SSH

PropertyDescription
SSHServerFingerprintThe SSH server fingerprint.

Firewall

PropertyDescription
FirewallTypeThe protocol used by a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallServerThe name or IP address of a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallPortThe TCP port for a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallUserThe user name to use to authenticate with a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallPasswordA password used to authenticate to a proxy-based firewall.

Logging

PropertyDescription
LogfileA filepath which designates the name and location of the log file.
LogModulesCore modules to be included in the log file.
MaxLogFileSizeA string specifying the maximum size in bytes for a log file (for example, 10 MB).
MaxLogFileCountA string specifying the maximum file count of log files.

Schema

PropertyDescription
LocationA path to the directory that contains the schema files defining tables, views, and stored procedures.
BrowsableSchemasThis property restricts the schemas reported to a subset of the available schemas. For example, BrowsableSchemas=SchemaA,SchemaB,SchemaC.
TablesThis property restricts the tables reported to a subset of the available tables. For example, Tables=TableA,TableB,TableC.
ViewsRestricts the views reported to a subset of the available tables. For example, Views=ViewA,ViewB,ViewC.

Caching

PropertyDescription
AutoCacheAutomatically caches the results of SELECT queries into a cache database specified by either CacheLocation or both of CacheConnection and CacheProvider .
CacheProviderThe name of the provider to be used to cache data.
CacheConnectionThe connection string for the cache database. This property is always used in conjunction with CacheProvider . Setting both properties will override the value set for CacheLocation for caching data.
CacheLocationSpecifies the path to the cache when caching to a file.
CacheToleranceThe tolerance for stale data in the cache specified in seconds when using AutoCache .
OfflineUse offline mode to get the data from the cache instead of the live source.
CacheMetadataThis property determines whether or not to cache the table metadata to a file store.

Miscellaneous

PropertyDescription
FileRetrievalDepthSpecify the depth level of folders you want to query from the Root table.
MaxRowsLimits the number of rows returned rows when no aggregation or group by is used in the query. This helps avoid performance issues at design time.
OtherThese hidden properties are used only in specific use cases.
PseudoColumnsThis property indicates whether or not to include pseudo columns as columns to the table.
ReadonlyYou can use this property to enforce read-only access to SFTP from the provider.
RTKThe runtime key used for licensing.
SSHAuthModeThe authentication method to be used to log on to an SFTP server.
SSHClientCertA certificate to be used for authenticating the user.
SSHClientCertPasswordThe password of the SSHClientCert certificate if it has one.
SSHClientCertTypeThe type of SSHClientCert certificate.
SupportEnhancedSQLThis property enhances SQL functionality beyond what can be supported through the API directly, by enabling in-memory client-side processing.
TimeoutThe value in seconds until the timeout error is thrown, canceling the operation.
UseMLSDUses listings for machine processing. Used only for FTP servers.
