A SELECT statement can consist of the following basic clauses.

Examples

Return all columns:
```
SELECT * FROM MARA
```
Rename a column:
```
SELECT "MATNR" AS MY_MATNR FROM MARA
```

Cast a column's data as a different data type:

SELECT CAST(AnnualRevenue AS VARCHAR) AS Str_AnnualRevenue FROM MARA

Search data:

SELECT * FROM MARA WHERE ERNAM = 'BEHRMANN'

The SAP ERP APIs support the following operators in the WHERE clause: =, !=, >, <, >=, <=, LIKE.

SELECT * FROM MARA WHERE ERNAM = 'BEHRMANN';

Return the number of items matching the query criteria:
```
SELECT COUNT(*) AS MyCount FROM MARA 
```
Return the number of unique items matching the query criteria:
```
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT MATNR) FROM MARA 
```
Return the unique items matching the query criteria:
```
SELECT DISTINCT MATNR FROM MARA 
```

Sort a result set in ascending order:

SELECT MANDT, MATNR FROM MARA  ORDER BY MATNR ASC
