The CData ODBC Driver for Microsoft SharePoint is a standards-based ODBC driver with editions for Windows and Unix-based operating systems, like macOS and Linux. The following sections show how to create an ODBC data source and query data.

Creating a DSN on Your Platform

The following guides show how to use the standard tools to configure data source names (DSN).

Microsoft SharePoint Version Support

The driver supports all versions of Microsoft SharePoint that support the SOAP API. This includes: Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, SharePoint Server 2007+ (2010, 2013, etc.), and SharePoint Online. The driver models the custom lists of your SharePoint site as bidirectional tables; when you connect, the driver retrieves the metadata for these tables by calling SharePoint Web services. Supported authentication schemes are NTLM, Basic, Digest, Forms, Kerberos, SSO, STS (security token services), and SharePoint authentication cookies.
