Connecting to QuickBooks

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to QuickBooks and configure any necessary connection properties. You can also configure provider capabilities through the available Connection properties, from data modeling to firewall traversal. The Advanced Settings section shows how to set up more advanced configurations and troubleshoot connection errors.

Connecting from Visual Studio

The CData ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks provides a seamless integration with Microsoft Visual Studio. The provider is registered as an ADO.NET provider with Visual Studio, allowing for integration with visual designer tools, Server Explorer, and ADO.NET data source configuration wizards.

Visual Studio Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks supports Visual Studio versions 2012 and above.

.NET Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks supports .NET Framework 4.0 and above as well as .NET Standard 2.0.

QuickBooks Version Support

The provider supports QuickBooks Premier, Professional, Enterprise, and Simple Start. All QuickBooks editions are supported starting from 2002 to the most recent QuickBooks version. In addition, the Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and UK editions are supported starting from 2003. The QuickBooks Point of Sale and QuickBooks for Mac editions are not supported.
