Excel Add-In for Google Sheets

Build 26.0.9770

EnableRowShift

When enabled, inserting a row into a position that already contains data will automatically shift the existing row and all subsequent rows downward. The new row is then inserted at the specified position.

Data Type

bool

Default Value

false

Remarks

By default, attempting to insert data into a populated row results in an error. When this property is enabled, the driver inserts a new empty row at the target position which also shifts existing rows downward, and writes the new data into the newly created row. This behavior allows inserts to occur within existing data without requiring manual row management.

Note: This property is not compatible with InsertDataOption = InsertRows. When this property is enabled, the driver inserts a new empty row at the target position and shifts the existing rows downward before writing the new data. Since InsertRows also inserts a new row and shifts existing rows downward, combining the two behaviors would result in an unintended empty row being left in the sheet. To prevent this, the InsertDataOption property is automatically overridden to Overwrite whenever this property is enabled, ensuring that rows are shifted correctly without leaving empty rows.
