Connecting to Google Sheets

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to Google Sheets and configure any necessary connection properties. You can also configure provider capabilities through the available Connection properties, from data modeling to firewall traversal. The Advanced Features section shows how to set up more advanced configurations and troubleshoot connection errors.

Connecting from Visual Studio

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Google Sheets provides a seamless integration with Microsoft Visual Studio. The provider is registered as an ADO.NET provider with Visual Studio, allowing for integration with visual designer tools, Server Explorer, and ADO.NET data source configuration wizards.

Visual Studio Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Google Sheets supports Visual Studio versions 2017 and later.

.NET Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Google Sheets supports .NET Framework 4.0 and above as well as .NET Standard 2.0.

Google Sheets Version Support

The provider leverages two APIs: the Google Sheets API v4 for reading and writing spreadsheet cell data, and the Google Drive API v3 for file-level operations such as listing, uploading, downloading, and deleting files, moving files to the trash, and managing sharing and visibility.
