Tableau Connector for Snowflake

Build 26.0.9770

IncludeTableTypes

Specifies whether the Snowflake connection reports the types of individual tables and views during metadata retrieval.

Data Type

bool

Default Value

false

Remarks

When IncludeTableTypes is set to true, the connection reports the specific object type of each table and view in the TABLE_TYPE column returned during metadata retrieval. The reported values match the table types that Snowflake documents for INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES:

  • Tables are reported as BASE TABLE, TEMPORARY TABLE, EXTERNAL TABLE, or EVENT TABLE.
  • Views are reported as VIEW or MATERIALIZED VIEW.
When IncludeTableTypes is set to false, the TABLE_TYPE column reports only the generic TABLE or VIEW value.

Set IncludeTableTypes to true if your application requires this metadata type information. Enabling this option may increase data retrieval time slightly, especially in schemas with a large number of objects.
