Power BI Connector for Snowflake

Build 24.0.9060

Getting Started

The CData Power BI Connector for Snowflake is built on top of an ODBC driver. This section discusses how to install the connector, create a DSN, and connect from Power BI.

Installing the Connector

Installing the Connector is a step-by-step guide for how to manage the installation process.

Creating a Data Source Name (DSN)

Creating the Data Source Name describes the process to authenticate and connect to Snowflake.

Snowflake Version Support

The connector enables standards-based access to all Snowflake editions. You can authenticate with a Snowflake user, SSO, or SSL client authentication. After authenticating, you can execute standard SQL queries to Snowflake tables or set QueryPassthrough to use any of the available Snowflake SQL syntax. For example, you can use extended projection to project columns over semistructured data.
