Connecting to Teradata

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to Teradata and configure any necessary connection properties. You can also configure provider capabilities through the available Connection properties, from data modeling to firewall traversal. The Advanced Settings section shows how to set up more advanced configurations and troubleshoot connection errors.

Connecting from Visual Studio

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Teradata provides a seamless integration with Microsoft Visual Studio. The provider is registered as an ADO.NET provider with Visual Studio, allowing for integration with visual designer tools, Server Explorer, and ADO.NET data source configuration wizards.

Visual Studio Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Teradata supports Visual Studio versions 2012 and above.

.NET Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Teradata supports .NET Framework 4.0 and above as well as .NET Standard 2.0.

Teradata Version Support

The provider wraps the official Teradata ADO.NET provider; you can pass through provider properties to connect and access the functionality of the official provider.
