Remarks

By default, Odoo only returns records where the active field is set to true. Archived or deactivated records are excluded from query results.

When this property is set to true, the driver adds an explicit filter to include both active and archived records in query results.

If you include an explicit active or x_active condition in your WHERE clause, the driver handles that filter client-side regardless of this property's value.
