ADO.NET Provider for Monday

Build 23.0.8839

Querying with the DataReader

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Monday implements two ADO.NET interfaces you can use to retrieve data from Monday: MondayDataAdapter and MondayDataReader objects. Whereas MondayDataAdapter objects retrieve a single result set of all the data that matches a query, MondayDataReader objects fetch data in subset increments as needed.

Using the MondayDataReader

The MondayDataReader retrieves data faster than the MondayDataAdapter because it can retrieve data in pages. As you read data from the MondayDataReader, it periodically requests the next page of results from the data source, if required. This causes results to be returned at a faster rate. The following example selects all the columns from the Invoices table:

C#

string connectionString = "APIToken=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.yJ0aWQiOjE0MTc4NzIxMiwidWlkIjoyNzI3ODM3OSwiaWFkIjoiMjAyMi0wMS0yMFQxMDo0NjoxMy45NDFaIiwicGV;";

using (MondayConnection connection = new MondayConnection(connectionString)) {
  MondayCommand cmd = new MondayCommand("SELECT * FROM Invoices", connection);

  MondayDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader();

  while (rdr.Read()) {
    Console.WriteLine(String.Format("\t{0} --> \t\t{1}", rdr["Id"], rdr["DueDate"]));
  }
}

VB.NET

Dim connectionString As String = "APIToken=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.yJ0aWQiOjE0MTc4NzIxMiwidWlkIjoyNzI3ODM3OSwiaWFkIjoiMjAyMi0wMS0yMFQxMDo0NjoxMy45NDFaIiwicGV;"

Using connection As New MondayConnection(connectionString)
  Dim cmd As New MondayCommand("SELECT * FROM Invoices", connection)

  Dim rdr As MondayDataReader = cmd.ExecuteReader()

  While rdr.Read()
    Console.WriteLine([String].Format(vbTab & "{0} --> " & vbTab & vbTab & "{1}", rdr("Id"), rdr("DueDate")))
  End While
End Using
