You can use sqlQuery method to execute data modification statements.
INSERT
To insert updates:
sqlQuery("INSERT INTO AccountsPayable.AccountLedger (Amount) VALUES ('John')")
UPDATE
To retrieve updates:
sqlQuery("UPDATE AccountsPayable.AccountLedger SET Amount = 'John' WHERE AccountNumber = '10001'")
DELETE
