Connecting to Neo4j

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to Neo4j and configure any necessary connection properties in a JDBC URL. You can also configure driver capabilities through the available Connection properties, from data modeling to firewall traversal. The Advanced Settings section shows how to set up more advanced configurations and troubleshoot connection errors.

Connecting to JDBC Data Sources

The CData JDBC Driver for Neo4j provides full support for integration into Java applications, including Eclipse, NetBeans, IntelliJ IDEA, and many other Integrated Development Environments, as well as J2EE applications running on a Java server such as Tomcat. You can find JSP, console, and swing demos in the installation folder.

Java Version Support

To deploy the driver JAR file, you must have Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.8 or higher installed on your system.

Neo4j Version Support

The driver supports connections to both the Neo4j HTTP and Query APIs. For HTTP API connections, the driver supports self-managed instances of Neo4j version 4.2 and above. For Query API connections, the driver supports self-managed or cloud (Neo4J Aura) instances of version 5.19 or above.
