Connecting to SAS Data Sets

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to SAS Data Sets and configure any necessary connection properties. Connecting from Visual Studio

The CData ADO.NET Provider for SAS Data Sets provides a seamless integration with Microsoft Visual Studio. The provider is registered as an ADO.NET provider with Visual Studio, allowing for integration with visual designer tools, Server Explorer, and ADO.NET data source configuration wizards.

Visual Studio Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for SAS Data Sets supports Visual Studio versions 2012 and above.

.NET Version Support

The CData ADO.NET Provider for SAS Data Sets supports .NET Framework 4.0 and above as well as .NET Standard 2.0.

SAS Data Sets Version Support

The provider reads tabular data (observations and variables) from local SAS7BDAT files created for SAS versions 7.0-9.4 to enable bidirectional SQL access to SAS Data Sets data.
