ADO.NET Provider for Bitbucket

Build 24.0.9060

Querying with the DataAdapter

The CData ADO.NET Provider for Bitbucket implements two ADO.NET interfaces you can use to retrieve data from Bitbucket: BitbucketDataAdapter and BitbucketDataReader objects. Whereas BitbucketDataAdapter objects retrieve a single result set of all the data that matches a query, BitbucketDataReader objects fetch data in subset increments as needed.

Using the BitbucketDataAdapter

Use the adapter's Fill method to retrieve data from the data source. An empty DataTable instance is passed as an argument to the Fill method. When the method returns, the DataTable instance is populated with the queried data. Note that the BitbucketDataAdapter is slower than the BitbucketDataReader because the Fill method needs to retrieve all data from the data source before returning.

The following example selects the Title and ContentRaw columns of the Issues table:

C#

string connectionString = "Workspace=myworkspaceslug;Schema=Information";

using (BitbucketConnection connection = new BitbucketConnection(connectionString)) {
  BitbucketDataAdapter dataAdapter = new BitbucketDataAdapter(
  "SELECT Title, ContentRaw FROM Issues", connection);

  DataTable table = new DataTable();
  dataAdapter.Fill(table);

  Console.WriteLine("Contents of Issues.");

  foreach (DataRow row in table.Rows) {
    Console.WriteLine("{0}: {1}", row["Title"], row["ContentRaw"]);
  }
}

VB.NET

Dim connectionString As String = "Workspace=myworkspaceslug;Schema=Information"

Using connection As New BitbucketConnection(connectionString)
  Dim dataAdapter As New BitbucketDataAdapter("SELECT Title, ContentRaw FROM Issues", connection)

  Dim table As New DataTable()
  dataAdapter.Fill(table)

  Console.WriteLine("Contents of Issues.")

  For Each row As DataRow In table.Rows
    Console.WriteLine("{0}: {1}", row("Title"), row("ContentRaw"))
  Next
End Using
