Querying with the DataReader
The CData ADO.NET Provider for Bitbucket implements two ADO.NET interfaces you can use to retrieve data from Bitbucket: BitbucketDataAdapter and BitbucketDataReader objects. Whereas BitbucketDataAdapter objects retrieve a single result set of all the data that matches a query, BitbucketDataReader objects fetch data in subset increments as needed.
Using the BitbucketDataReader
The BitbucketDataReader retrieves data faster than the BitbucketDataAdapter because it can retrieve data in pages. As you read data from the BitbucketDataReader, it periodically requests the next page of results from the data source, if required. This causes results to be returned at a faster rate. The following example selects all the columns from the Issues table:
C#
string connectionString = "Workspace=myworkspaceslug;Schema=Information"; using (BitbucketConnection connection = new BitbucketConnection(connectionString)) { BitbucketCommand cmd = new BitbucketCommand("SELECT * FROM Issues", connection); BitbucketDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); while (rdr.Read()) { Console.WriteLine(String.Format("\t{0} --> \t\t{1}", rdr["Title"], rdr["ContentRaw"])); } }
VB.NET
Dim connectionString As String = "Workspace=myworkspaceslug;Schema=Information" Using connection As New BitbucketConnection(connectionString) Dim cmd As New BitbucketCommand("SELECT * FROM Issues", connection) Dim rdr As BitbucketDataReader = cmd.ExecuteReader() While rdr.Read() Console.WriteLine([String].Format(vbTab & "{0} --> " & vbTab & vbTab & "{1}", rdr("Title"), rdr("ContentRaw"))) End While End Using
