Remarks

By default Domino requires TLS 1.2+ when connecting to the Proton service. Most environments will be able to use TLS 1.2 automatically so the platform SSL/TLS implementation is used.

The .NET framework settings used by some versions of Excel exclude TLS 1.2 support, which manifests as an error like "Could not acquire CSP." To avoid this, the bundled SSL implementation is used which supports TLS 1.2 in all environments.
