Establishing a Connection
Creating a JDBC Data Source
You can create a JDBC data source to connect from your Java application, based on CData JDBC Driver for Informix.Follow these steps:
- Add the driver JAR file to the classpath. The JAR file is located in the installation directory's lib subfolder. Ensure that the .lic file is located in the same folder as the JAR file.
- Provide the driver class. For example:
cdata.jdbc.informix.InformixDriver
- Provide the JDBC URL. For example:
jdbc:informix:Server=10.0.1.2;Port=50000;User=admin;Password=admin;Database=test
Or, if there is a conflict in your application between drivers using the same URL format, use this form to ensure that you are using the CData driver:
jdbc:cdata:informix:Server=10.0.1.2;Port=50000;User=admin;Password=admin;Database=test
Ensure that the URL starts with either jdbc:informix: or jdbc:cdata:informix:. The URL can include any of the connection properties in name-value pairs separated with semicolons.
Connecting to Informix
To connect to Informix, set these properties:- AuthScheme: Specifies the type of user authentication to be performed at the server. There are two options:
- Host: The IP address of the server running Informix.
- Server: The name of the server running Informix.
- Port: The port the Informix server is listening on.
- Database: The name of the Informix database.
- User: The authenticating user.
- Password: The authenticating user's password.
