The CData ODBC Driver for Parquet is a standards-based ODBC driver with editions for Windows and Linux operating systems. The following sections show how to create an ODBC data source and query data.

Creating a DSN on Your Platform

The following guides show how to use the standard tools to configure data source names (DSN).

• Windows

  Windows DSN Configuration shows how to configure a DSN with the Microsoft ODBC Administrator tool.

Parquet Version Support

The driver leverages the Apache Parquet API V2.0.

The driver supports the following compression encodings when parsing Parquet files: ZSTD, Gzip, Snappy, uncompressed.

The driver also supports Byte Stream Split encoding for read operations. Supported data types include: Float, Double, Integer, Long, and Fixed Length Byte Array (FLBA).
