The CData Python Connector for Azure Data Lake Storage is designed for navigating the Azure Data Lake Storage metadata only. A variety of of stored procedures relevant to Azure Data Lake Storage data are supported as well.

This metadata typically includes details about stored objects, such as file and folder names, and excludes the actual content of the discoverable files.

If access to both the file metadata and the actual file content is needed, then the CData Python Connector for Azure Data Lake Storage must be used in tandem with the associated file streaming driver(s) for the filetypes stored in Azure Data Lake Storage.
