Creating a Custom OAuth Application

Jira Service Management uses the OAuth 2.0 authentication standard, which requires the authenticating user to interact with Jira Service Management via the browser.

To obtain the OAuth client credentials, consumer key, and consumer secret:

  1. Log in to your Jira Service Management site.
  2. Navigate to your application management: https://developer.atlassian.com/apps/.
  3. Select Create new app.
  4. Name the new application.
  5. Navigate to APIS AND FEATURES. Click + Add then select Add OAuth 2.0 (3LO).
  6. Still in APIS AND FEATURES, click + Add and add JIRA Service Management platform REST API.
  7. To get all the functionalities of the driver, click + Add and add the JIRA application to your custom application.
  8. Add the desired scopes to your custom application.
  9. To set up your Callback URL, navigate to APIS AND FEATURES > OAuth 2.0 (3LO). Enter a callback URL that is accessible to your application.
  10. Save your changes.
