Modifying Data

The following code examples show how to use data modification statements.

Procedure for Updates

You can use separate statements to execute data modification statements. Once you create the statement, you can call its executeNonQueryMethod and retrieve the number of affected rows.

INSERT

To insert updates:

db.open("...", (err) => {
    db.prepare("INSERT INTO Accounts (Name) VALUES ('John')", (err, stmt) => {
        stmt.executeNonQuery((err, affected) => {
            console.log("Affected: " + affected);
        });
    });
});

UPDATE

To retrieve updates:

db.open("...", (err) => {
    db.prepare("UPDATE Accounts SET Name = 'John' WHERE accountid = 'MyAccount'", (err, stmt) => {
        stmt.executeNonQuery((err, affected) => {
            console.log("Affected: " + affected);
        });
    });
});

DELETE

To delete updates:

db.open("...", (err) => {
    db.prepare("DELETE FROM Accounts WHERE AccountId = ''00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000''", (err, stmt) => {
        stmt.executeNonQuery((err, affected) => {
            console.log("Affected: " + affected);
        });
    });
});
