Connection String Options

The connection string properties are the various options that can be used to establish a connection. This section provides a complete list of the options you can configure in the connection string for this provider. Click the links for further details.

Authentication


PropertyDescription
RemoteHostSet this to the host name or address of the server.
RemotePortThe port the FTP server is running on.
RemotePathThe current path in the FTP server.
UserThe name of a user.
PasswordThe password of the user.
PassiveControls whether to direct the server into passive mode. Recommended if behind a firewall.
TableDepthThe depth level to display subfolders as views.
SSLModeThe authentication mechanism to be used when connecting to the FTP server.

SSLServerCertThe certificate to be accepted from the server when connecting using TLS/SSL.

Firewall

FirewallTypeThe protocol used by a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallServerThe name or IP address of a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallPortThe TCP port for a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallUserThe user name to use to authenticate with a proxy-based firewall.
FirewallPasswordA password used to authenticate to a proxy-based firewall.

Schema

LocationA path to the directory that contains the schema files defining tables, views, and stored procedures.

Miscellaneous

FileRetrievalDepthSpecify the depth level of folders you want to query from the Root table.
MaxRowsLimits the number of rows returned rows when no aggregation or group by is used in the query. This helps avoid performance issues at design time.
OtherThese hidden properties are used only in specific use cases.
ReadonlyYou can use this property to enforce read-only access to FTP from the provider.
TimeoutThe value in seconds until the timeout error is thrown, canceling the operation.
UseMLSDUses listings for machine processing. Used only for FTP servers.
UserDefinedViewsA filepath pointing to the JSON configuration file containing your custom views.
UseSimpleNamesBoolean determining if simple names should be used for tables and columns.
