Establishing a Connection

Creating a JDBC Data Source

You can create a JDBC data source to connect from your Java application. Creating a JDBC data source based on the CData JDBC Driver for Authorize.net consists of three basic steps:

  • Add the driver JAR file to the classpath. The JAR file is located in the lib subfolder of the installation directory. Note that the .lic file must be located in the same folder as the JAR file.
  • Provide the driver class. For example:
    cdata.jdbc.authorizenet.AuthorizeNetDriver
  • Provide the JDBC URL. For example:
    jdbc:authorizenet:LoginID=myLoginID;TransactionKey=myTransactionKey

    or

    jdbc:cdata:authorizenet:LoginID=myLoginID;TransactionKey=myTransactionKey

The second format above can be used whenever there is a conflict in your application between drivers using the same URL format to ensure you are using the CData driver. The URL must start with either "jdbc:authorizenet:" or "jdbc:cdata:authorizenet:" and can include any of the connection properties in name-value pairs separated with semicolons.

Before You Connect

You can obtain the necessary connection values by logging into your Merchant account and clicking Account > Settings.

The LoginID and TransactionKey are then displayed in the Security Settings section.

Connecting to Authorize.net

Set the following to connect:

  • LoginID: Set this to the API login Id associated with your payment gateway account. Note that this value is not the same as the login Id that you use to log in to the Merchant Interface.
  • TransactionKey: Set this to the transaction key associated with your payment gateway account.
  • UseSandbox (optional): If you are using a developer test account, set this to true. If you are using a production account, leave this property set to false.
