SELECT Statements

A SELECT statement can consist of the following basic clauses.

Examples

  1. Return all columns:
    SELECT * FROM TradingAccounts
  2. Rename a column:
    SELECT "Name" AS MY_Name FROM TradingAccounts
  3. Cast a column's data as a different data type:
    SELECT CAST(AnnualRevenue AS VARCHAR) AS Str_AnnualRevenue FROM TradingAccounts
  4. Search data:
    SELECT * FROM TradingAccounts WHERE TradingAccountUUID = 'c2ef66a5-a545-413b-9312-79a53caadbc4'
  5. The Sage 50 UK APIs support the following operators in the WHERE clause: =, >, <, >=, <=, <>, !=, LIKE, AND, OR.
    SELECT * FROM TradingAccounts WHERE TradingAccountUUID = 'c2ef66a5-a545-413b-9312-79a53caadbc4';
  6. Return the number of items matching the query criteria:
    SELECT COUNT(*) AS MyCount FROM TradingAccounts 
  7. Return the number of unique items matching the query criteria:
    SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT Name) FROM TradingAccounts 
  8. Return the unique items matching the query criteria:
    SELECT DISTINCT Name FROM TradingAccounts 
  9. Sort a result set in ascending order:
    SELECT TradingAccountUUID, Name FROM TradingAccounts  ORDER BY Name ASC
