Getting Started
The CData Tableau Connector for Microsoft Project is built on top of a JDBC driver. This section discusses how to install the connector, set up a data source, and connect from Tableau.
Installing the Connector
Installing the Connector describes how to install the CData Tableau Connector for Microsoft Project.
Connecting from Tableau
Configuring a Connection shows how to create a Microsoft Project Data Source from Tableau's Connect To Server window.
Tableau Version Support
The connector supports Tableau Desktop 2020.1 or later and Tableau Prep 2020.4.1 or later. Versions between 2020.1 and 2020.3 of Tableau Desktop are supported via the legacy connector file (cdata.microsoftproject.legacy.taco) and versions 2020.3 and higher are supported using the modern connector file (cdata.microsoftproject.taco).
For older versions of Tableau, use the CData ODBC Driver for Microsoft Project or the CData JDBC Driver for Microsoft Project to connect.
Microsoft Project Version Support
Enabling bidirectional SQL access to Project Server, the connector models Microsoft Project's CSOM and OData APIs as a relational database. The CData Tableau Connector for Microsoft Project can connect to both the cloud and local versions of Project Server.
