Connecting to Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to Microsoft Dynamics NAV and configure any necessary connection properties. You can also configure cmdlet capabilities through the available Connection properties, from data modeling to firewall traversal. Connecting from PowerShell

The CData Cmdlets PowerShell Module for Microsoft Dynamics NAV provides a familiar way to interact with Microsoft Dynamics NAV from PowerShell. The cmdlets provide a standard PowerShell interface and an SQL interface to live data. The CData cmdlets enable you to work with Microsoft Dynamics NAV using standard PowerShell objects; you can chain the cmdlets to each other or other cmdlets in pipelines. The cmdlets also support PowerShell debug streams.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV Version Support

The cmdlet supports read/write access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013+ through OData Web services. To access data through the API, you will need to publish the pages you want to work with as Web services: In the Web or Windows Dynamics NAV client, search for 'Web services.' To add a page to the list of the pages exposed, select the Object Type and Object Id.
