JDBC Driver for SendGrid

Build 26.0.9655

Establishing a Connection

Creating a JDBC Data Source

You can create a JDBC data source to connect from your Java application, based on CData JDBC Driver for SendGrid.

Follow these steps:

  1. Add the driver JAR file to the classpath. The JAR file is located in the installation directory's lib subfolder. Ensure that the .lic file is located in the same folder as the JAR file.
  2. Provide the driver class. For example:
    cdata.jdbc.sendgrid.SendGridDriver
  3. Provide the JDBC URL. For example:
    jdbc:sendgrid:APIKey=abc123;

    Or, if there is a conflict in your application between drivers using the same URL format, use this form to ensure that you are using the CData driver:

    jdbc:cdata:sendgrid:APIKey=abc123;

    Ensure that the URL starts with either jdbc:sendgrid: or jdbc:cdata:sendgrid:. The URL can include any of the connection properties in name-value pairs separated with semicolons.

You must use an API key to authenticate through the SendGrid driver.

Obtaining an API Key

To obtain an API key, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into SendGrid.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click API keys.
  4. Click Create API Key.
  5. Choose the Permissions the API Key should have, either Full Access or Restricted Access. The API key is then displayed.

NOTE: If you want access to Email events, you must purchase the Email Activity History add-in of SendGrid. If using a Restricted Access key, you must give it the messages.read and email_activity.read scopes.
