Connecting to Twitter

Establishing a Connection shows how to authenticate to Twitter and configure any necessary connection properties in a JDBC URL. You can also configure driver capabilities through the available Connection properties, from data modeling to firewall traversal. The Advanced Settings section shows how to set up more advanced configurations and troubleshoot connection errors.

Connecting to JDBC Data Sources

The CData JDBC Driver for Twitter provides full support for integration into Java applications, including Eclipse, NetBeans, IntelliJ IDEA, and many other Integrated Development Environments, as well as J2EE applications running on a Java server such as Tomcat. You can find JSP, console, and swing demos in the installation folder.

Java Version Support

To deploy the driver JAR file, you must have Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.8 or higher installed on your system.

Twitter Version Support

The driver models the behavior of version 1.1 of the Twitter REST API as bidirectional tables. A developer account is required to connect to Twitter APIs.
