Establishing a Connection
Creating a JDBC Data Source
You can create a JDBC data source to connect from your Java application. Creating a JDBC data source based on the CData JDBC Driver for Bullhorn CRM consists of three basic steps:
- Add the driver JAR file to the classpath. The JAR file is located in the lib subfolder of the installation directory. Note that the .lic file must be located in the same folder as the JAR file.
- Provide the driver class. For example:
- Provide the JDBC URL. For example:
jdbc:bullhorncrm:DataCenterCode=CLS33;OAuthClientId=myoauthclientid;OAuthClientSecret=myoauthclientsecret;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH; or jdbc:cdata:bullhorncrm:DataCenterCode=CLS33;OAuthClientId=myoauthclientid;OAuthClientSecret=myoauthclientsecret;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;
The second format above can be used whenever there is a conflict in your application between drivers using the same URL format to ensure you are using the CData driver. The URL must start with either "jdbc:bullhorncrm:" or "jdbc:cdata:bullhorncrm:" and can include any of the connection properties in name-value pairs separated with semicolons.
Begin by providing your Bullhorn CRM account credentials in the following:
- DataCenterCode: Set this to the data center code which responds to your data center. Refer to the list here.
If you are uncertain about your data center code, codes like CLS2, CLS21, etc. are cluster IDs that are contained in a user's browser URL (address bar) once they are logged in.
Example: https://cls21.bullhornstaffing.com/BullhornSTAFFING/MainFrame.jsp?#no-ba... indicates that the logged in user is on CLS21.
Note: If you specify callback URL value and it contains "/" character at the end like "http://localhost:33333/" you must specify exactly the same value "http://localhost:33333/" (It must match exactly like the callback URL you specify in your app settings).
Adding or removing any character of this parameter, will result in an error.
Authenticating with OAuth
Bullhorn CRM uses the OAuth 2.0 authentication standard.
To authenticate using OAuth, you will need to create and configure a custom OAuth app. See Using OAuth Authentication for more information.
